"Being pregnant and giving birth are like crossing a bridge.
People can accompany you to the bridge and they can greet you on the other side,
but you walk the bridge alone."
~African Proverb

What is a Birthkeeper?

Birthkeepers are individuals who support birthing people during pregnancy, delivery and after. Most important we acknowledge, encourage, empower, and inform. We help make sure you know the rights for yourself and your baby. We are re-claiming and claiming our responsibility to our past & future generations.

“Doulas are a scope. Birthkeepers are free. Doula is a title, Birthkeeper is an honor. Doulas have to follow rules, Birthkeepers only limit themselves to what they are comfortable with. Doulas are working….Birthkeepers are the sacred keepers of birth and we are answering our calling.” ~Veronica Hart
